I hate to tell her that her goals\/ dreams are not reasonable or practical.  My 80s family never discussed college, so I know a little encouragement  would of been helpful.  I do not want her to lose her s@%# if she gets a C in algebra, but I want her to take a look at the big picture. What we do each day affects the next day.
